HOW CAN I BECOME A MEMBER?

Membership is proposed by a Rotarian who is acquainted with the prospective member. A proposed member must be in a management or professional position. Once the prospective member’s application has been received, it is reviewed by the Club. Rotary looks for members willing to serve the community and world.

New members in San Marino Rotary become Yearlings for a period of several months. Yearlings perform a variety of activities designed to hasten their assimilation into the club. Call any officer or member for more information or about joining San Marino Rotary

IS ATTENDANCE IMPORTANT?

Regular attendance at club meetings and events is encouraged. Active participation by all members make completion of Club projects easy for everyone.

HOW DOES MY SPOUSE FIT IN?

Spouses of Rotary members are encouraged to participate in club events. They are welcome at weekly meetings and at all social events and projects. They share in the rewards of service to others.

WHAT IS THE COST?

The cost of Rotary membership includes a one-time initiation fee, dues and prepaid meals. Members pay about $225 a quarter, which includes about $60 per quarter in voluntary tax-deductible contributions to local charities and to the Rotary Foundation.

WHAT IS ROTARY?

Rotary, the world’s first service club organization, was founded by Paul Harris in 1905 in Chicago, Illinois. This Chicago club grew into a world wide movement which now has about 1,200,000 members and more than 29,000 international clubs in 162 countries.

Members of Rotary Clubs are business and professional men and women. They join in community, vocational, and international service projects. The motto is, “Service Above Self”. The Rotary emblem, a gear wheel represents civilization and movement

SAN MARINO ROTARY

The San Marino Rotary Club was founded on April 12, 1939, by a group of San Marino business and civic leaders interested in serving the community. The club’s activities have ranged from rationing foods and guarding the skies during World War II to promoting computer and lifesaving skills in distant countries today. There’s always time for fun, too, with relaxed and informative meetings and social occasions.

VISITING A MEETING

The Rotary Club of San Marino invites interested prospective members to attend a regular meeting and lunch, held each Thursday at 12:10 p.m. in the San Marino Community Church, Fellowship Hall, 1750 Virginia Road, San Marino, CA 91108.  Parking is available in the lot south of the church.  Map The meetings always conclude by 1:30 p.m.
