UPDATE: 5/17/18 Greg Johansing reported today that he has raised $1849 from his golf fund raiser! . . . . . .
District 5300’s second Pars vs. Polio Golf Marathon gives all Rotary clubs and Rotarians in the District an opportunity to raise money for the worldwide polio eradication campaign and to tell our friends, neighbors and communities about the role Rotary and Rotarians have played in this massive effort.
Greg Johansing committed to playing 54 holes in one day and asked for a pledge from each willing San Marino Rotarian of $1 per hole. With the pledges he was able to raise $1,549 over 54 holes. He completed the task on Wednesday May 2, at Arroyo Seco Golf Course in South Pasadena. My daughter let me use her purple golf bag for good luck. He teed off alone at 9:30am, was later joined by close friends and my brother Geoff. The last putt fell at 6pm. It was a long day, but a lot of fun.
